App: CarTV: M3U IPTV Player, Cast Last updated: October 29, 2026

The Short Version

CarTV: M3U IPTV Player, Cast (the "App") is a media player. You supply your own playlists and media sources; the App plays them and can cast or mirror them to a connected display. Your playlists, server credentials, favourites, and watch history stay on your device — we never receive them and cannot see what you watch. What we do receive is a small amount of anonymous technical and usage data, described below. This policy is issued by the App's developer ("we", "us", "our"). Installing or using the App means accepting it.

1. Data Stored on Your Device

Everything you add to the App is written to your device's own storage and stays there:

  • M3U and M3U8 playlist URLs and uploaded playlist files
  • EPG guide links, portal addresses, and any username or password your IPTV provider issued you
  • Favourites, recently watched items, and playback settings
  • Any media file you import, which is copied into the App's private storage

None of this is transmitted to us, stored on a server of ours, or shared with any third party. Deleting an item in the App, clearing the App's data, or deleting the App removes it from the device. Temporary buffers and thumbnails are cleared automatically.

2. Information Collected Automatically

To keep the App working and improve it, we and our providers may process: device model, iOS version, App version, device language and general region, a random device identifier, anonymous feature-usage events (which screens are opened, that playback or casting started and how long it lasted), crash reports and error details, and subscription status. Event data never includes channel names, playlist contents, file names, or anything about what you watched.

3. Casting, Mirroring, and Local Network Access

Casting and screen mirroring work over your local network. The App asks for Local Network permission so it can discover and connect to a display, receiver, or car head unit on the same network, and to receive video cast from other apps. This communication happens directly between your device and the receiver; it does not pass through us, and we do not see the stream.

4. Permissions

Permission Why it is needed
Local Network Finding and connecting to displays, receivers, and car head units for casting and mirroring
Photos / Files Importing a playlist file or a video you choose to play
Notifications (optional) Alerting you to App updates and playback events

Each is requested only when the feature needing it is used, and each can be withdrawn at any time in iOS Settings — the dependent feature then stops until it is granted again.

5. Advertising and App Tracking Transparency

Where no subscription is active, the App may show advertising supplied by third-party networks such as Google AdMob. Those networks may use your advertising identifier and comparable technical signals to select advertisements, including personalised ones where you have consented.

The App asks for your choice under Apple's App Tracking Transparency. Choosing "Ask App Not to Track" means your identifier for advertisers is not shared and your data is not used for cross-app tracking; aggregated SKAdNetwork reporting may still occur. You can change this at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking. An active subscription removes advertising from the App.

6. Subscriptions and Purchases

The App offers an optional subscription that removes advertising and unlocks its premium features. Payment is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store (StoreKit): card numbers, billing details, and your Apple Account are handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy and never reach us. We receive only an anonymous purchase receipt — product identifier, transaction identifier, purchase and expiry dates, and whether Family Sharing was used — which is used solely to unlock your features and restore them on your devices. Purchase records are kept only as long as tax and accounting law requires.

7. Third-Party Services

  • Apple App Store / StoreKit — purchases and subscriptions
  • Google AdMob — advertising
  • Analytics and crash-reporting providers — anonymous usage statistics and error reports

Each operates under its own privacy policy, which we encourage you to read. We do not control how they process data.

8. Content: What We Do and Do Not Provide

We do not host, supply, broadcast, stream, or store any television channel, film, series, or other media. Freshly installed, the App contains nothing to watch — every stream it plays comes from a source you have added yourself. The legality, availability, and quality of that material are outside our control and outside our responsibility. Holding the rights, licence, or valid subscription for anything you stream, and complying with the law where you live, rests entirely with you. Any complaint about a particular stream belongs with whoever supplies it, not with us.

9. Data Sharing

We share data only with the providers named above, and only as far as they need it to do their job. We may also disclose information where the law requires it or where reasonably necessary to prevent fraud or abuse. Your playlists, credentials, and viewing activity are never shared with anyone.

10. How Long Data Is Kept

Playlists, imported media, and settings stay on your device for as long as you keep them. Analytics and crash data are retained according to each provider's own settings. Purchase records follow the period described above.

11. Where Data Is Processed

The providers named above may process information on servers located outside your country. Where the law requires it, such transfers are made under appropriate safeguards.

12. Children

The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Anything received in error is deleted once identified. A subscription purchased by a minor requires a parent's or guardian's prior consent; we recommend parents enable Ask to Buy in Family Sharing so purchases on a child's device need approval.

13. Your Choices and Rights

You can revoke any permission in iOS Settings, change your tracking choice, delete playlists or imported media, clear the App's data, or delete the App. If the law of your region grants rights of access, correction, erasure, or restriction over personal data — or the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising — write to us and we will act within a reasonable period.

14. Changes

This policy may be updated from time to time. The version in force, with its date, is always the one published on this page. Continued use of the App after an update means the update is accepted.
